REF: 001 / ORIGIN
A quieter kind of training
Galveris was built for reporters who wanted to do investigative work properly, not just quickly.
REF: 002 / HERITAGE
Galveris started with a simple observation from newsroom work in Nairobi: reporters were often taught how to write investigative pieces, but rarely how to prepare for the parts that come before the writing — the consent conversation, the folder of evidence, the decision about whether a story goes too far.
What began as informal sessions for a handful of colleagues grew into a structured programme, built around three areas that consistently seemed to matter most: how sources are treated, how material is kept, and how difficult calls get reviewed rather than made alone.
We are not a legal service and we do not claim to replace one. What we offer is practical, repeatable groundwork that a working reporter can actually use.

What we hold to
01
Care before technique
A source's wellbeing matters more than any single story. We teach methods that protect people first.
02
Nothing without a record
Every step in an inquiry should be traceable — who provided what, and when, and why it was kept.
03
Review, not instinct alone
Hard editorial decisions deserve a second, structured look before they are acted on.
